Thank you for your interest in becoming a Certified Listeners Society (CLS) Shift Supervisor on our Emotional Support Warmline!

Please note that this role is an unpaid volunteer position.

This interview questionnaire was created to reduce the wait times for a 1-on-1 interview. All responses are reviewed by Program Director Greg Clarke. Please answer as carefully and thoughtfully as you would in a live interview -- we want to get to know you and how you work!

This form takes about one hour to complete, on average.

There are three main sections in this form:

Section 2: Interview questions

Section 3: Final acknowledgements and important information

Upon completion of this form, you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. After review by the Program Director, candidates will be contacted within 7 business days.

Hint: We recommend drafting your responses on a word processor (Microsoft Word or Google Docs) and then copying them into this form. This will make it easier for you to calculate the number of characters, run a spell check, and allow you to keep a copy of your submission should you need to re-submit.

Requirements - Shift Supervisor candidates must have:

A completed diploma or degree in a discipline that relates directly to psychology, mental health, social work, community work, community outreach, or counselling, and have experience providing support and/or leading and supervising a team.
Candidates with completed diplomas or degrees in disciplines like Nursing, Gerontology, Addictions, or other disciplines that are not obviously related to the services CLS provides may be eligible if they have a specialty in mental health, relevant work or student placement experience, training in concurrent disorders, ASIST, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or professional accreditation.
